Overview

LocalTapri ("we", "our", "us"), operated by Awanish Kumar Tiwari, is a community chat platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Information You Provide

• Phone number — for account verification via OTP. Never shown to other users.
• Display name — the name you choose to show in the community.
• Character avatar — the avatar you select (no real photos).
• Messages & posts — content you share in community chat, posts, polls, events, and DMs.

Information Collected Automatically

• Approximate location — GPS is used once during onboarding to assign you to a community zone (~11km grid). Your exact coordinates are never stored, shared with other users, or transmitted after assignment.
• Device information — device model, OS version, and app version for crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics).
• Usage analytics — anonymized app interaction events (screen views, feature usage) via Firebase Analytics. No personal data is included.

How We Use Your Data

• Authentication — Phone number verifies your identity. Google sign-in is optional.
• Community matching — Location assigns you to neighbors within 20km. Only a zone/area identifier is stored, not GPS coordinates.
• Content delivery — Messages, posts, and votes are delivered to your community in real-time.
• Safety & moderation — Content is checked against abuse filters. Moderation logs are maintained for community safety.
• App improvement — Anonymized analytics help us fix bugs and improve features.
• Emergency alerts — Siren alerts are delivered to all community members for safety.

Data We Never Collect or Share

• Real photos or selfies (avatar-only platform)
• Exact GPS coordinates of users
• Contact lists or address books
• Browsing history
• Financial information
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising

Ephemeral by Design

LocalTapri is built on ephemeral communication:

• Community chat messages are not permanently stored
• Private messages (Cutting) expire after 24 hours
• Events expire after their scheduled date
• Polls close after their voting window

Conversations disappear like real speech — this is a core design principle, not a limitation.

Data Security

• All data encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
• Auth tokens stored in platform-level secure storage (Android EncryptedSharedPreferences, iOS Keychain)
• Local cache encrypted with AES-256
• Certificate pinning in release builds
• Firebase Security Rules enforce authentication on all data paths

Third-Party Services

• Firebase Authentication — phone OTP and Google sign-in
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting (device info only, no PII)
• Firebase Analytics — anonymized usage metrics
• Firebase Cloud Firestore & Realtime Database — data storage
• Firebase Remote Config — feature flag management

All Firebase services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Your Rights

• Delete your account — In-app: More > Settings > Delete Account. All personal data is permanently deleted.
• Access your data — Contact us to request a copy of your data.
• Block users — Block any user via the Parda feature.
• Report content — Report abusive content for review.

For data deletion requests when you cannot access the app, email support@localtapri.com.

Children's Privacy

LocalTapri is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
